I think Elantris should be read toward the beginning of your Cosmere journey, since it is Brandon’s first published book and shows signs of being his earlier work - but still good! After Elantris, read the short story The Hope of Elantris and the Hugo Award-winning novella The Emperor’s Soul, set on the same planet. The premise is a foil of Warbreaker’s and it is also currently a stand-alone.
